Accelerated apprenticeships

A new generation of accelerated apprenticeships is helping engineers to develop the skills they need to survive and thrive in the rapidly changing world. The University of Sunderland’s BEng (Hons) Engineering Practice degree apprenticeship fast-tracks an apprentices’ development with a three-year programme.

The apprenticeship has been designed and developed in collaboration with industry professionals to meet today’s engineering industry demands, and fill emerging skills gaps in the sector, explains Peter Usher, a Senior Lecturer Engineering and programme lead at the University of Sunderland. “The apprenticeship programme is ideal for employers who want to upskill their workforce,” he says. “It’s a fantastic way to invest in their talent, enhancing their skills, knowledge and behaviours.”
